My GP refused to write a prescription for something which was meant to aid a recent prognosis of Cancer, claiming that it wasn't his responsibility because Fairfield Hospital conducted my blood tests.
This has being going back and forth for 3 weeks with neither the Medical Practice or the Hospital claiming responsibility for writing the prescription.
The Manager of Ramsbottom Medical Practice claimed "it isn't our job to mop up the patients of the Hospital" which is an incredibly callous thing to say to any registered patient, let alone one with a recent Cancer diagnosis.
The doctors are great, the receptionists are the rudest and you are always treated like an inconvenience to their day. The reception is often unmanned and you will be waiting a long time before they see to you. They never seem to be quite competent at what they are doing and when they get something wrong it is the patient at fault not them. I really feel I need to change surgery I visit as this one is not working out at all.
I always receive great care at Ramsbottom Doctors Surgery, in particular i find Dr Haslam to have a very kind, supportive manner, who gives great medical and lifestyle advise and encouragement!
The reception staff need to be trained on how to speak to patients. They're awfully rude and obnoxious. They also need to be trained on how to get hold of information quickly, instead of always running out of the room and dossing for about half and hour whilst the queue in the doctors is getting larger as there is only one member of staff on in the reception!! Disgusting how rude they are I always feel like I'm an inconvenience to them! Giving me attitude back and huffing and puffing is not how I want to be treated as a patient who has attended this surgery for more than 21 years!!! Will definitely be moving to a different surgery.
The surgery is always running late even though they insist it is running 'on time'.
Practice manager is rude and judgmental.
Reception staff are very pleasant and I've always found them to be helpful although it is hard to get contact even when visiting the surgery in person as they don't cover the reception desk all the time.
